Our Team

When Chrissy, our Rescue Director, moved to Texas, what she saw was both incredibly eye opening and devastatingly heartbreaking.

Beginning her shelter work as a volunteer at BARC, Houston's city shelter, she worked alongside tireless advocates who dedicate 24/7 to networking euthanasia-listed dogs in the hopes that they can be saved. These dogs have no behavioral or medical issues - they are simply on the euthanasia list for lack of space.

Chrissy teamed up with Dana and Sam to build Pippy’s Pals, a rescue that provides premium vet care, nutrition, and training to the at-risk and euthanasia-listed dogs in Houston.

After evaluating a dog at the shelter and determining they are a good fit for our rescue, we vet them, place them in wonderful foster homes in the Houston area, then transport them to the Northeast, where they are available for adoption.

Chrissy Allen, our founder and Rescue Director, lives in Houston and serves as our boots on the ground player who makes all of this possible. She visits the dogs at the city shelter and extensively temperament tests them. This ensures that a dog will be a good fit for our rescue. She takes photos, videos, and evaluates their personalities. Chrissy leads the Houston operation from first visit to transport day.

Sam Mulholland has been working with dogs since she was 14 and owns Happy Paws Daycare in Castleton, Vermont. She is our Daycare Director who gives us the green light to transport dogs up North. She incorporates them into the pack and fosters them until they find their forever homes. With deep experience with big packs of dogs (including 5 of her own), Sam helps assess our dogs’ temperaments so we can make the best matches for them.

Dana Harder, our Adoption Director, and her family live in Upstate NY, where we are building a foster network and hope to have an extensive group of dog savvy fosters to help our pups on their journeys to their forever homes. She handles the screening of applications so you will likely be texting, emailing, or speaking to her. Most importantly, she is Pippy’s mom!
